What’s the latest situation for the London area?
The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) reported 11 new COVID-19 cases and no deaths on Friday.
There were two additional confirmations of the delta variant of concern. In the last two weeks, the delta variant has been the only variant of concern detected in Middlesex-London.
The health unit posted 38 recoveries on Friday, with 177 known active cases in the region. The rolling seven-day average of daily cases fell to 19.
London Health Sciences Centre says it is treating 11 patients with COVID-19-related illnesses. There are five or fewer patients in adult critical care.
Five or fewer staff members at the hospital network have tested positive for the virus and are in quarantine.
COVID-19 cases at London schools
An outbreak was declared at St. Thomas More Catholic School on Thursday after five members of the school community tested positive for COVID-19.
An active outbreak remains in place at École élémentaire La Pommeraie after five members of the school community tested positive for COVID-19. There have not been any additional cases reported at the school since the outbreak was declared on Sept. 17.
There have now been 53 cases of COVID-19 reported at London-area schools and four cases at child care centres in September.

The MLHU is hosting two pop-up clinics on Friday:
- White Oaks Mall, 1105 Wellington Rd, London, available until 7 p.m.
- Village Green Community Church, 505 Village Green Ave., available until 6:30 p.m.
Caradoc Community Centre vaccination clinic to roll back hours
The MLHU says the mass vaccination clinic at the Caradoc Community Centre in Mount Brydges will be changing its hours next week from five days to two days.
After this Saturday, the clinic will be available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The health unit says the clinic will operate on a walk-in basis, but those who have had one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine will still be contacted to book their second shot.
COVID-19 updates across the region
Southwestern Public Health reported two new cases of COVID-19 and no deaths on Friday. There are 40 ongoing cases in Elgin-Oxford.
Huron Perth Public Heath reported six new COVID-19 cases and no deaths. There are 30 known active cases in the region.
