Teenager in hospital after reported ‘stabbing’ at Thornton Heath Station

A teenager was taken to a major trauma centre by paramedics after reportedly being stabbed at Thornton Heath Station yesterday evening (Saturday, May 8).

Reports surfaced on Saturday evening and into Sunday that a young male had been injured in an alleged knife attack at the station after emergency services were called there in the moments after 7pm on Saturday.

The Thornton Heath Chronicle described a large emergency services presence at the scene and reported eye-witnesses seeing a teenage boy being assisted by paramedics.

Responding to a request from the Croydon Guardian, a spokesperson for London Ambulance Service (LAS) confirmed their presence at the scene and said they had taken the person injured to a major trauma centre for further treatment.

“We were called at 7:22pm… 8 May to Thornton Heath railway station to reports of a person injured.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene: an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic practitioner, a clinical team manager, a medic in a response car and an ambulance crew.

“We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance,” the spokesperson said.

“We treated a male at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre by road,” they added.

British Transport Police were contacted for comment.
